Paul Schatz offers frequent market analysis
for USA Network, PBS, Bloomberg TV,
and FOX 61, and has been quoted in the market commentary sections of the Wall
Street Journal, Investors Business Daily, Connecticut Post, Hartford Courant,
New Haven Register, Financial Planning, Registered Representative and Investment News Weekly.
He is responsible for writing and publishing the firm's bi-weekly e-letter,
Street$marts, which is read by more than 500 top financial advisers and members
of the media, and has been printed in Barrons.

He currently serves as Treasurer of the National Association of Active
Investment Managers (NAAIM), a trade association of 175 Registered Investment
Advisory firms who employ active investment strategies aimed at protecting
client assets. Previously, he acted as Chairman, President, Vice President,
and Secretary.
From 1989 to 1991, Paul worked for Shearson Lehman Brothers in various
computer and financial planning related positions. Following his tenure at
Shearson, Paul moved to Cowen & Company where he traded proprietary money in
equities, options and futures from 1991 to 1993.
Between 1993 and 2002, Paul served as Chief Investment Officer for Beneficial
Capital, Inc., an SEC Registered Investment Adviser and NASD broker-dealer,
creating proprietary computer driven investment models and launching the firm's
third party investment advisor practice.
Paul graduated from the University of Rochester in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree
in Political Science and a minor in Economics.
He has been a director, Secretary and Vice President of the Alumni Council Board
of Directors for The Hopkins School, his alma mater, located in New Haven, CT
and currently serves as President. Additionally, Paul is on the Executive Board
of Directors at Congregation B'nai Jacob in Woodbridge as Vice President, as
well as a former Endowment Trustee for the synagogue's endowment fund.

Thorkild Hansen, Director of Research

Thorkild Hansen has extensive experience developing advanced empirical and mathematical tools for analysis of large complicated data sets. Since 2005 he has worked with Paul Schatz applying these skills to the investment field at TRI Asset Management and Heritage Capital. He has developed proprietary alpha models for both equity and macro portfolios and implemented portfolio analytics tools for monitoring value at risk and various risk factor exposures.
In 2003 he co-founded Seknion Inc., a Boston company that develops intellectual property in the areas of radio frequency identification (RFID) and security for wireless communication systems. Prior to Seknion, Thorkild joined Schlumberger in 1997 working on an underground radar project. He transferred with the project to Witten Technologies in 2000, where he was part of the team that developed Witten's radar technology. This technology, which helped in the reconstruction of the utility network near Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan, won the 2002 NOVA Award for innovation in construction and Wall Street Journal's 2004 Technology Innovation Award in Software.
Prior to Schlumberger, Thorkild worked for 6 years developing new techniques for analyzing data and electromagnetic waves and antennas at the Air Force Research Laboratory (formerly, Rome Laboratory) of Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.
Thorkild received the R.W.P. King Prize in 1992 and the S.A. Schelkunoff Prize in 1995 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his research and publications on electromagnetic wave propagation. He is co-author of Plane-Wave Theory of Time-Domain Fields, a featured book of IEEE Press in 1999, and has authored many papers that have appeared in various technical journals over the years. Thorkild received his Master of Science in 1989, and his PhD. in 1991, in Electromagnetics from Technical University of Denmark.
